COMPRESSION TESTING MACHINES
ASEW series Compression Testing Machines meets the international Load Measurement Standards including BS : 1610 grade 1.0.ASTM E4,As 2193 Grade A ., BS 1881-115 , IS 516 & IS : 14858 (2000).

The ASEW Series Machines are high capacity machines featuring rigid distortion-resistant load frames designed to meet the demands of testing high-performance concrete in a production testing program where accurate and repeatable test results are required. Compare its frame specifications to those of other manufacturers and judge for yourself which machine will stand up to the long term punishment of testing high performance concrete.

Designed for easier operation and loading of specimens, all load frames feature a wide horizontal opening, large lower platen , bottom-mounted piston with dust shield, heavy duty load frame mounting for easier loading of heavy test specimens, our quick change platen system and steel front and rear safety guard doors. The lower platen is through hardened to 55 HRC or greater for longer service life, plated for corrosion resistance, ground plane and has concentric circles for easier centering of test specimens. A quiet running hydraulic pump is rated for continuous duty, with all of its components and those of the loading control valve manufactured to ISO 9001 international quality standards. The control valve is pressure compensated for a smooth and constant rate of loading.

Available with different load indicating systems, select from a basic budget minded unit or an advanced system that will automatically calculate and display stress test results, store test data, print or transfer to PC all of the test data required for a test report. These Machines feature a space saving design configuration for easy accessibility and safer operation by positioning the operator to the side of the load frame during a test. This is accomplished by mounting the digital indicator on the top of the load frame.

Standard safety features are steel fragment guard doors on both frame openings and a high pressure hydraulic safety valve which prevents the machine from operating beyond its maximum capacity. Optional safety features is an electronic overload protection switch that automatically turns the hydraulic pump off when the machine reaches its maximum capacity.

Concrete is generally mixed by man at site itself. The properties of Concrete depend on the properties of its ingredients and their proportion , and it varies from mix to mix. Therefore the test must be conducted to ensure that the concrete used is in accordance with design specifications. A frequent test is the test of Compressive strength , in which concrete samples are tested to failure.

The Machines are designed with extreme simplicity which makes even a non technical personnel to operate with ease. The Machines are designed with extreme simplicity which makes even a non technical personnel to operate with ease. The Machines are made portable for quality control testing in areas where commercial testing are not available. The Machines are calibrated with an accuracy of +- 1 % as per the standards requirement. The Machines are available in various capacities from 50 KN to 5000 KN .

Optional test platens and spacer sets are available for testing a wide range of specimen types, all meeting ASTM and AASHTO specifications.

PREPARATION MOULDING AND CURING
Test procedures require that specimens are cast in a number of standard sizes convenient for compressive and flexural strength determination. The engineering tolerances specified for moulds are very stringent and the internal finish of the surface must be of a high order to comply with the recommendations laid down in many international standards. Moulds not deform during manufacture of concrete specimens if the specimen dimension are to be maintained.

For capping 6" dia. x 12" high (152 x 305mm) concrete test cylinders when making compression tests. Simplifies capping process by assuring plane end surfaces are right angles to the axis of the cylinder. The upright is a guide for positioning the cylinder. Molten capping compound is poured into the mould (plate); then cylinder is placed on the capping material. After the compound is set, the capped cylinder is removed for testing. All types of capping compounds can be used with this apparatus. Capping plate is machined and finish-ground from cold-rolled steel to within .002" (.05mm) planeness. Thickness of the capping plate is 3/4" (19mm), to allow regrinding and refinishing after considerable usage should the plate become gouged. Capping plates are round, allowing circular rotation during use that results in uniform wearing down of contacting surfaces for maximum length of service. The frame is machined from high-strength aluminum alloy.

ASEW-126A - Capping set, vertical for 4" dia x 8" high specimen.
ASEW-127 - Concrete Test Hammer BS 1881-202,
Concrete Test Hammer BS 1881-202, ASTM C805. (Rebound Test Hammer).
The Method is based on the principal that the rebound of an elastic mass depends on the hardness of the surface which it strikes. The Test is fast & unlikely to cause damage to the concrete.

The hammer is intended for testing the quality of concrete in finished structures such as buildings and bridges . Supplied complete with carrying case and carborundum stone, the hammer is suitable for testing concrete with Compressive Strengths of 10 to 70 N/mm2.Weight 1.4 Kgs. App.

ASEW127A - Concrete Test Hammer in metal case.
The Test Hammer, Type N, is designed for non-destructive testing of concrete items 4" (100mm) or more in thickness, or concrete with a maximum particle size less than or equal to 1.25" (32mm). It is designed for testing concrete within a compressive strength range of 1,450 to 10,152 psi (10 to 70 N/mm2) and impact energy of the test is 1.6 ft-lbs (2.207 Nm). The (Type N) Schmidt hammer is pressed against the concrete structure and the rebound values are displayed on a mechanical sliding scale. These values can then be correlated to compressive strength by using the conversion table chart affixed to the hammer. ASEW Test Hammer is known for its durability and accuracy. Ship wt. 5lb. (2.3kg). Includes a grinding stone, carrying case and instruction booklet with conversion charts.
ASEW 128 - The Digital Concrete Test Hammer couples
The Digital Concrete Test Hammer couples with rebound measuring sensors and microprocessor technology to provide an instrument designed for applications requiring numerous measurements. The method is rapid, reproducible, and has resolution previously unattainable by manual models.

The hammer is connected to a control and display unit. Strength values are shown digitally as they are taken and also displayed as groups of bars on the 128 x 128 pixel graphic LCD. Mean value and standard deviation for a preset number of measurements are computed and displayed. Via the menu display, the user can select: hammer impact direction (up, down, horizontal, etc.); desired engineering units (psi, MPa, kg/cm2, or N/mm2), and indicate the specimen size and type (cylinders, cubes, etc.) for the strength data to be predicted.

The Instrument measuring range is 1,450 to 10,150 psi (10-70 N/mm2) using 2.207 Nm impact energy. Accuracy is ±0.2R with 0.5R reproducibility. Rebound vs. strength correlation curves for 7 and 28 day strengths are installed in memory, or the users own data may be installed via keyboard entry. The Internal memory holds 5000 measurements, each with date and time. Data can be transferred via the RS-232C interface to a PC in Microsoft Excel using the included cable and software. Direct printing is possible.

The Digi-Schmidt consists of the test hammer, control and display unit, PC cable, rubbing stone, instruction manual and a plastic carrying case. Meets ASTM C805. Shipping wt. 12lb. (5.4kg).

Includes a grinding stone, carrying case and instruction booklet
